Rosa elliptica Tausch var. borzae Prodan

Flora Europaea

Festucion valesiacae, Stipio pulcherrimae-Festucetalia pallentis

A taxon with a very unclear status, originally described from Muntele Lacu, between Globurau village and Arjana crest, Cerna Mountains. It differs a lot from Rosa elliptica Tausch and was described and figured by I. Prodan in Savulescu, T. (1964) - Flora Reipublicae Popularis Romanicae vol. 4, Editura Academiei RPR, Bucuresti, pp. 741, 747. We do believe this taxon can be a distinct species, probably also a local endemic one.
